Whether you’re struggling with a laggy connection or wondering how to join the team, this page covers the most frequently asked questions from the Cyan Plex community. Read through the relevant section below and follow the steps carefully before reaching out for further help.
High ping is usually caused by a slow internet connection, network issues between you and the server, or a misconfigured Windows TCP stack. Work through each step below in order.1. Check your internet speedRun a speed test at speedtest.net. Anything below 5 Mbps is unlikely to provide a stable Minecraft connection. If your speed is low, contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP).2. Try Cloudflare WarpA VPN can route your traffic more efficiently and reduce ping. We recommend Cloudflare Warp (1.1.1.1), it’s free and easy to install. Once installed, toggle between 1.1.1.1 and 1.1.1.1 with Warp modes in the app settings to find whichever gives you the best result.3. Run a ping test from your deviceUse the Windows Command Prompt to measure your ping and check for packet loss directly to the server.
1

Open Command Prompt as Administrator

Press the Windows key, type CMD, then right-click the result and choose Run as administrator.
2

Ping the server

Type the following command and press Enter:
3

Read the results

You’ll see output similar to this:
Look for a high average ping or any packet loss percentage above 0%. Either indicates a network problem between you and the server.
4

Contact your ISP if needed

If the ping is high or there is packet loss, share these results with your ISP and ask them to investigate the routing issue.
4. Apply the Windows TCP fixA known Windows bug can artificially inflate ping. Open Command Prompt as Administrator and run these three commands in order:
Restart your computer after running the commands, then test your ping again.
Before going further, check the #announcements channel in our Discord server, there may already be a known issue with our hosting provider that explains what you’re experiencing.
Still having problems? Head to the #report-forum channel in Discord and post a detailed report. Include your ping test output, the steps you’ve already tried, and your approximate location.
Staff applications are handled entirely through our Discord server. Follow the process below to submit yours.
